Born at the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK) in 1999—when self-taught artists and a small circle of volunteers set out to create a safe, inspiring space for artistic expression—TCAT grew from a single table of sketchpads into a vibrant, citywide collective. Today, TCAT supports dozens of emerging and established artists, operates its own gallery and studio (Studio 51), and continues its mission of uplifting voices that might otherwise go unheard. What started as a simple gathering has evolved into a powerful creative movement that showcases the bold, authentic talent of Trenton’s art community.
